OLD BUSINESS:
Library: at Heritage Discovery Center: the Nickel Plate Railroad Society held its annual convention at the Discovery Center. Christine Bocskor from Maryland was at the convention and met 2 of her cousins from the Railroad Society. Diane Blaser assisted her with some genealogical research. Christine left her computer mouse & when it was mailed back to her, sent the Society a generous donation.

Flash drives were purchased and are available for sale at the Library for patrons to purchase. 8 gb drives will be sold for $5 including sales tax.

Artvoice held its 25th Anniversary party on property held owned by the Heritage Discovery Center Railroad Records Project: Our indexing project has gotten attention from Ancesty.com which approached Ed about obtaining our database. 4,700 employees from the New York Central have been indexed. Indexing continues on the Erie and Erie Lackawanna personnel records. Volunteers are needed to assist with this project.

Buffalo Councilman David Franczyk has given the Heritage Discovery Center $3,000. A large screen monitor & computer will be purchased to use in the library.

Holy Cross Records: 3 films need digitizing. We will approach the Buffalo History Museum to see if we can copy their microfilms and give them access to our database of those records. The Bishop will be approached about obtaining the microfilms we do not have.

Events: Jim & Donna Shine, Nancy & Brian Everard, and Kevin O’Brien reported that the venue for the Irish Festival was great. BIGS shared a table with Margaret McGrath’s Irish language.

Kevin O’Brien reported on his visit to the Niagara Celtic Festival in Olcott, NY.

NEW BUSINESS:
- The National Canal Museum is looking to rehouse a collection donated to them. The Heritage Discovery Center, where our Library is located, is one of 2 finalists who may receive this collection.

John Blest suggested finding genealogical information about those in the Sons of Erin database.

Election of officers will be held October 2016

Next year is the 100th anniversary of the Uprising in Dublin Apr. 22 – May 1, 2016.
