MEETING OPENED: 10:36 am – President Ed Patton, presiding.
- Minutes: The minutes of the January meetings – Organizational and Quarterly Business – have been posted on the website. They are approved as written.
- Treasurer's Report: The end of quarter balance stands at $3,194.13
- Membership: Yearly memberships expired at the end of March. Overdue renewals - $20 individual and $30 family - should be sent to Donna Shine asap.
Nomination of Officers and Board Members: Nominations for the upcoming two-year term will be accepted at the July business meeting. Election will take place at the October meeting.
Railroad Records: This database continues to grow. The index of the contents is not yet available through Ancestry.com and will not be until all associated procedures are fully in place. Volunteers are still needed.
Buffalo Irish Center Library: At present access to this facility is by appointment only. The volunteer staff required to make have it open at regularly scheduled hours is still lacking.
The owner of Riverworks is planning to turn it into an Irish Cultural Center providing an ‘Irish Experience’ with a tour boat, double decker bus tours, theater productions, traditional musicians, etc.
The World Gaelic Games will be held in Buffalo this year.
